A driving instructor with 1 million subscribers?
I’ve always believed that if you're running a business and not sure how to produce content, the best way is to simply document what you're already doing—of course, leaving out anything confidential. I've seen salespeople recording their cold calls, censoring sensitive details, and turning that into valuable content. The key is just showing your day-to-day in a way that’s relatable to your audience.
This week, I came across a YouTube channel called Clearview Driving. It's run by a woman in the UK who teaches people how to drive and get licensed. All she does is put a dashboard cam in her car while giving lessons. She then optimizes the videos for YouTube and uploads them. Pretty simple, right?
Well, she now has around 10 lakh subscribers, and some of her videos have more than a million views! I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s making as much from YouTube as she is from her regular job, maybe even more. And this is content that people are searching for—like those trying to get a UK driving license. The videos are both helpful and easily monetized.
In a previous email, I mentioned how a truck driver in India is doing something similar by documenting his journeys. He’s not creating anything fancy—just sharing his experiences, and it’s working wonders for him.
