I was watching a youtube video named “BlackRock - The Company that owns the world“
It talks about how big of a Financial Institution/company BlackRock is and goes deep into their investments and business strategies.
Suddenly out of nowhere, the YouTuber decided to unveil the sponsor of that video.
He suddenly started talking about baldness and says “Even a billion dollars cannot reverse a head that’s gone completely bald“
Then puts out an astonishing fact on-screen “2 out of 3 men start to show signs of baldness from the age of 35“
I was thinking - okay, but how is this relevant here? How is this relevant to the audience?
The next line/screen gave me the answer.
As you can see at the bottom of the screenshot, he points out that a good portion of his subscribers is between the age of 24 to 34 and are men.
He added - The most ideal audience to start talking about hair loss!
He went on to pitch a program called “Keep“ which provides treatment for hair loss at an early stage in order to prevent going complete bald
Got to give it to him, mostly influencers would have passed on an opportunity to do an ad for a hair loss treatment program on a business channel. But this guy pulled it off. Kudos.
Again, another marketing lesson on how crucial it is to totally know your audience.
