How I became Linkedin Top Voice
Today, Linkedin published the "Top Voice; Next Gen" list. In it were featured founders of startups that were heavily funded and people working in Uber to Amazon. And then there was me. But I don't run a funded startup nor do I work in any unicorns.
I would like to tell you guys how I think I made it to the list:
1) I started 2 years back with a vision for 7 years. I thought what will happen if I continue the habit of posting content on Linkedin consistently for the next 5-7 years. I knew only good things are going to happen - hands down. But it didn't take that much time to get a reward of this size! (Only took 2 years)
2) How did I come up with content consistently? - I got the answer from Garyvee; you don't need to create, you just need to document. That's exactly what I did. I started documenting my journey as an entrepreneur. From sharing project management tips to showing off our works. It worked like a charm.
3) I didn't overdo anything. I didn't obsess over Linkedin. All did was spent about 10-20 minutes per day consuming and about 5-10 minutes producing content. I knew if I spend too much energy and time, I would have easily burnt out way earlier seeing no engagements on my posts. Just do. Don't go crazy over it.
4) Created a community out of it. I started talking to freelancers and started agreeing to schedule meetings with people I barely knew. Most of the times, it turned out to be a productive meeting which helped me set up lots of long-lasting relations from the platform; including a WhatsApp community with more than 250+ marketers in it.
These are some points that came to my mind as of now, today. Surely there are many other specifics - which I will be taking some more time to produce, It will be published in my medium blog.
