All of our clients came as an inbound lead either via Linkedin, Search, Word of mouth or PR. But recently we have been trying to crack outbound leads, been testing out a lot.
Here I’m sharing my latest experiment, which is yet to complete for me to share any stats, but thought it was awesome enough to immediately share with you all.
Constantly I’m trying to become the “Purple Cow“ ie, somehow to stand apart from the crowd whenever I’m doing any sort of marketing or sales activities. (Thanks to Seth Godin)
When it came to outbound I thought how do people usually do it? They just select random people and create a message template and start shooting things like “We are XYZ company and we are industry leaders and can solve all of your business problems blah blah“
I get a lot of those messages on my Linkedin, most of them I don’t even open the message to read 🙈
Then I thought that we should stand out by customising our approach to everyone we are pitching to. I was thinking about something that I want to see a message when someone is pitching to me.
What if someone did their research about my agency and says to me that “Your contact us widget on your website lacks social proofing and I can help you fix it by creating top-notch copy for that particular page.” and attaches the screenshot of the page with some pointers on it. And then he asks me for a meeting?
I’d definitely jump on it.
Yes, giving the right people a customised audit could be a way to stand out. We have been doing it for a while and the response rates are really good.
But I wanted to push it a bit further. How can I really become a “Purple Cow“?
Then I thought how about this for the title of the message “Here’s your video audit on your Facebook ads”
You would open it right?
Yes, in order to fasten the audit process, we create a Loom video capturing our screen and we point out and talk about the things that are going wrong with their marketing efforts.
They see the video pitch, they see our faces, it’s easier for us compared to creating a written audit doc, and it’s a purple cow that everyone is going to give attention to.
A Note: I wanted to conduct a workshop on Linkedin for a long time now. Now I got an opportunity to do it via our new initiative called Blusteak Academy.
This year for me was phenomenal and I have to thank Linkedin for most of it. Reason number one: I was selected as one among Linkedin's Top Voices 2021. The other being Linkedin helped me to generate 1 CR worth of converted leads for our agency.
Hence, I wanted to share my experience with my fellow entrepreneurs. Doing it by conducting a 1-hour webinar on the topic of Generating Leads Using Linkedin on 19th of December at 11 AM
Hoping to see you all there. Register now (Only limited seats):
