How we got 150,000 views on our Instagram reels
At the start of January, we sensed that without a proper reels strategy, our Instagram account is not heading anywhere. [I am talking about our agency's Instagram account: @Blusteak]
But if we are venturing into reels, it must be damn good.
Here's how we moved:
1) Initially the question was, who is going to do the reels!? The answer lies in always finding someone who is already killing it. That's way better than we ourselves training someone to do it. Let them show us the way!
Hence, we go in touch with a freelance who was doing pretty good reels in her account (@komallahuja).
2) The frequency: We didn't want it to be too much or too little. And surely never too much since we didn't want to put out vague content. Hence we went for 8 reels per month
3) The topics: We tried doing trending topics, tips for marketers, and many more. Some got above average views while some performed mediocrely. Then after 5-6 attempts, we realized that a reels is a very short form of content, and if you try to tell a lot of stuff in that short time period, you lose the depth.
4) Never broad & focus on just ONE (surprising) thing: This idea worked. We got a really interesting topic which can surprise people (related to marketing) and boom! Within days we got more than 150,000 views and 1000 followers from it! Check the reel here
