Social Media Growth Should be a Side-Effect: Explanation with an Example
People are trying to crack it the other way around
In order to grow on social media for your brand, you should work outside Social media. I'll explain:
Yes, you can post memes, reels and all sorts of things. But realistically only a very small amount of new brands actually cross at least 10k by just working on content strategy. Because people just don't want to follow another brand that is trying to fit in by posting over-promotional memes on social.
But think about this:
Imagine you are a food delivery app. You decide to make a profile on Tinder as one of your delivery partners (with permission). Then when someone matches with you, you surprise them with a coupon code with maybe a super crazy offer of yours. TADA!
Most probably people are going to talk about this experience on social, you know how a post like this could go on Linkedin. It could get picked up by news/media outlets which could get you into the mainstream news!
Now your brand is not that unknown brand that is trying to grow its social media by posting promotional memes and boring reels, now people are coming to your Twitter, Instagram and is going to follow your brand.
A part of social media strategy should definitely be this. PR.
