The magic of looking at the right places: I got paid for doing so: here's how
You might be working hard but.
I have been writing on Linkedin for more than 3 years now. Since the last year, several people/brands started reaching out to me to do sponsored posts with me.
Till the last month, I was taking it very casually, I only do it when some legit brands reach out to me. I have worked with Youtube, Hirect, Peachpay, Pepper Content etc during this time period.
Last month I thought, hey what if I just try to reach out to some brands that I like and talk with them about a possible collab?
I started doing it. I went to places like Product Hunt to find out good products to promote and tried to connect with the founders or the marketing team. But it didn’t work out the way I hoped it would.
Hence I had to change my strategy. I just thought, what brands would take my message seriously?
Definitely, that brand should be a brand that currently is actively running influencer campaigns. And it shouldn't be just influencer campaigns, but that brand should be running influencer campaigns on LinkedIn.
How to find them?
I had recently noticed that all those brands with whom I have previously worked told me to put #Ad at the end of the post. Mostly it’s because of some regulation.
That was my answer. I put the keyword #Ad on the search bar and hit enter. Tada! showed me a list of collaborative posts.
Out of which one caught my attention: A website called Geeks for Geeks. They were running a campaign. And some years ago while pursuing my BTech, I used to refer to the website a lot. It checked all the boxes - I loved the brand, they were in my niche and they were actively running influencer campaigns on Linkedin.
I found some profiles who are working in the marketing team of Geeks for Geeks and pinged them. Eventually, it worked out and the collaboration went live recently.
