Thinking from the customer's shoe: JioMart Example
Today, I wanted to share a personal experience I had while shopping for ingredients to make fried rice. It's amazing how small innovations can make a significant impact on our daily lives.
Recently, I decided to try making fried rice at home for the first time. Excited and armed with a newfound recipe from a YouTube video, I made a list of about 6-7 ingredients I needed to buy. To make the process more convenient, I turned to a new delivery app launched by a local supermarket—a business that embraced digitalization.
However, my initial excitement turned into frustration as I faced a cumbersome process. I had to search for each item individually, add it to my cart, and then repeat the process for the next item. To make matters worse, the app encountered a bug, preventing me from adding anything to my cart. Feeling disappointed, I decided to explore an alternative—JioMart.
As I navigated through JioMart's user-friendly interface, something caught my eye. I noticed a button labeled "Have a Shopping List - Search Multiple Products Together." It immediately piqued my interest, and I thought to myself, "This could be a game-changer."
Intrigued, I proceeded to enter all the items on my shopping list together, just as the feature suggested.
I was pleasantly surprised by the results. The app displayed tabs with the search results for each item, even automatically correcting spelling mistakes. I could effortlessly add each item to my cart without the need to go back and forth, repeating the search process.
This small yet significant innovation, driven by a user-centric perspective, provided me with a tremendous advantage. It simplified and streamlined my shopping experience, saving me valuable time and effort.
It's remarkable how observing things from the user's point of view can lead to such impactful enhancements. By understanding our needs and addressing them with innovative solutions, businesses like JioMart are revolutionizing the way we shop.
