"Watch other sports" - Ad by this brand during IPL
Good to see this sort of message being pushed!
Recently, I came across a campaign by Cadbury Dairy Milk on YouTube that caught my attention. The ad started with the notion that cricket is the only sport that enjoys good support in India, while most of the other sports lack a fan following.
But then, the ad featured other sportspersons from hockey, badminton, wrestling, and more, talking about how bad they feel seeing empty stadiums and how it affects their mentality. It was a powerful message that highlighted the importance of supporting all sports in India.
What really caught my attention was the unique idea that Cadbury Dairy Milk came up with to support this cause. They will now have a QR code on the cover of each dairy milk, which when scanned, will show the upcoming non-cricket sports schedule in which India is playing.
But that's not all. If you register on their website https://www.cadburycheerforallsports.com/ , a few lucky winners will get a chance to cheer along with Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh, and it will be shown on a digital screen placed in the stadium.
I loved how Cadbury chose to run this game during the IPL season. It really hits the mark! These sorts of campaigns make people take action and definitely give the brand that thought leader edge.
It's inspiring to see brands taking up initiatives to support sports beyond cricket and to see them giving back to society. This campaign by Cadbury Dairy Milk is a perfect example of how brands can make a difference by being creative and innovative.
