Why omni channel presence is so important for small businesses (Example story)
you don't need to hire an agency to do this
I wanted to plant pepper plants in my yard.
Cause pepper is expensive and Kerala (where I’m from) is an excellent place to grow it.
I visited my neighbour who was already growing pepper and asked him where he got the plant. He could be in his 60s, surprisingly he said “aah. I actually don’t remember, kumbukkal is its name - you can google it to get the number. I found it online only”
I typed in “kumbukkal“ and on Google, an article talking about their pepper variant came first.
What a great first impression. Shows the power of a good PR presence.
Then straight away I went to their website. That also proved to be decent. They had embedded a video talking about their plant from their youtube channel on the homepage of the website. A good move to give authenticity, and in addition to that, they had about 7000 subscribers on their youtube channel!
I scrolled down to the footer section of the website and saw the Instagram icon. Visited the profile and they were actively posting videos on their account!
Even they had this brilliant yet simple video in the account in which they just simply documented how a customer who visited them was asking doubts before the purchase.
Absolutely helped me out with all these online touchpoints, and now I have no doubts about what & where to buy from!
How & what would a potential customer of yours feel when searching for you online?
